THE LAB.YRINTH (b.2019) is a Portuguese brand from Porto that encourages and promotes the encounter between art and fashion. As a brand and an artistic collective, we strive for a practice that transcends the traditional framework and formats of the catwalk, the black box, and the white cube, drawing freely and fiercely from the vocabularies of dance, theater, cinema, fashion, music, and visual and performance art.

The brand, originally born as a sister brand of the Portuguese shoes brand PROF (b.1994), presents a non-conventional approach to fashion through a curation of products focused on quality, design, development techniques, and timelessness by defying the concept of trends. We emerged as a brand in response to the need to create something that prioritizes time in its durational and transformative nature, rather than something that follows the masses.

THE LAB.YRINTH has established itself as a contemporary physical and digital space that studies and explores the notion of time and space in all its semantic, physical, and philosophical dimensions. The time and space between these two things, those commonly neglected and perceived as emptiness, are deeply rooted in our brand's foundations, as they encourage constant experimentation that adds various nuances, dynamics, textures, and qualities to our work. Emptiness is where nothing and everything meet, and where THE LAB.YRINTH comes from.

We approach each product as something that extends beyond its functionality by questioning and challenging the relationship between object and subject. With this, we intend to provide the space and time for each product to be what it needs to be, prioritizing a feeling before a form approach that will support a customer-product relationship based on something other than aesthetic values.

In 2024 THE LAB.YRINTH presented the cultural program THE LAB.SESSIONS and THE LAB.WORKSHOPS in 2025. This initiative aims to dynamise THE LAB.YRINTH space, dedicated to sharing the practice of multidisciplinary artists, not only through performance, exhibition and musical sessions, but also workshops.
